Privacy policy
Plain-English version first: your family’s data is yours, we don’t sell it, and it exists only to help you keep your child safe. The detail is below.
This is a template privacy policy for the FreePhoneTracker marketing site. Review it with a qualified professional and adapt it to your jurisdiction and actual data practices before publishing.
Who this covers
This policy explains how FreePhoneTracker handles information for two groups: visitors to this website, and parents (and their children) who use the FreePhoneTracker app and panel. Because the product is designed for parents monitoring their own minor children, the parent account holder is the person responsible for setting up monitoring lawfully and for the data collected from a child’s device.
What we collect
From website visitors: basic, standard analytics such as pages viewed, approximate location by region, device and browser type, and referral source. This helps us improve the site. We use only what’s necessary and honour browser privacy signals where required.
From parents who sign up: your name, email address and account settings, so you can sign in and receive alerts.
From a child’s device (once paired and permitted): depending on which features you enable, this can include location, call and message logs, message and social content, typed text, app usage, installed apps, web activity, Wi-Fi networks, and — where you turn them on — camera images and audio recordings. Nothing in this category is collected until a device is paired, permissions are granted, and, for the sensitive features, consent is given on the device.
How we use it
Data from a child’s device is used for one purpose: to show it to the parent account holder in their panel so they can look after their child. Account data is used to run your account and send the alerts you’ve asked for. Website data is used to keep the site working and improve it. We do not use your data to build advertising profiles.
What we never do
- We do not sell your data, or your child’s data, to anyone.
- We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
- We do not use children’s data for any purpose other than the monitoring you set up.
- We do not enable covert surveillance of other adults — the app is transparent on the device by design.
Consent and transparency on the device
The app shows the child a transparency screen listing what’s collected, and it does not hide that it is running. The most sensitive features — call recording and typed-text alerts — are off by default and only function after consent is recorded on the device. FreePhoneTracker does not capture photos or audio from the phone’s camera or microphone. This is central to how we believe monitoring should work.
Where data lives and how it’s protected
Collected data is associated with your family account and shown in your panel. We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect it in transit and at rest. Media captures are retained for a limited period and then removed automatically; other data is kept for as long as your account needs it or until you delete it.
Retention and deletion
You control your data. You can turn any feature off, which stops that collection, and you can delete collected data from your panel. Captured photos and audio expire automatically after a set retention window. If you close your account, associated data is deleted. You can request deletion at any time by contacting us.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise them, email [email protected]. As the account holder, you are also the point of contact for a child’s data collected through your account.
Children’s data
FreePhoneTracker is a tool for parents, and children do not sign up themselves. Data from a child’s device is collected under the parent’s account and direction. Parents are responsible for ensuring their monitoring complies with the laws that apply to them and for talking with their child about it — which the app’s transparency screen is built to support.
Cookies
This website uses essential cookies to function and may use analytics cookies to understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings. The parent panel uses a session cookie to keep you signed in.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves or the law changes. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date.
